Bulle, a small town set amid Swiss Alpine pastures, is undergoing an industrial transformation.
The protective and agreeable bubble of this picture-postcard landscape is home to the Aubert family, whose pleasant domestic life explodes as they are brutally confronted with Alice’s illness at the age of 35. It is a shock wave that burst the bubble in which each of them has settled. It brings up the past once again – real, fantasized, or obscured by love. The whole family is forced to open up, not only to the present and the future, but to the foreign and to a strange reality.
